Hi all. I checked into the extension mentioned by the rock star named Glenn9999  :) and see that Crossword Scraper works like a charm and is a far better workaround than posting the raw .puz text source here. Thank you Glenn9999!

>>>>> If it helps, look into an extension (Chrome/Firefox) called Crossword Scraper. <<<<<<

Please help me out on this. I've downloaded the extension, but am not exactly sure what to do with it. Can you please tell me how it works?

P.S. I never found your method to be difficult. I just appreciated that it was available.

Please try this:

(1) Install the Crossword Scraper browser extension for Chrome or Firefox (you'll need one of those two browsers)
(2) Navigate to the current day's puzzle at https://www.latimes.com/games/daily-crossword
(3) Click the down arrow installed by the extension, which should appear at the top right of the browser pane. Select PUZ from the choices available and you will be good to go.

You're my hero.

Thanks so much.

But...I've received two Cyrillic emails since I added the extension today. Coincidence?

Doesn't anyone have a solution for printing the NYT Sunday puzzle?

Hi judie. I'm not sure what the issue is for which you are seeking a solution. If it's just a matter of printing the Sunday puzzle nicely formatted for solving with a pencil (or a pen, for the daring!), I like to use the .puz version (noting that retrieval these days requires the workaround mentioned below).  As a one-time Across Lite optimization, click Preferences > Printing > Ink saver option, and drag the slider control for darkness of the black scales to light gray. After closing that dialog: Print > Customize... > Print using two pages > Print. Note that these are the Mac controls - I imagine it works the same or very similar in Across Lite for Windows or Linux. I hope this helps.
