THEME:   "Oh, No!" title means there is a missing O which changes the meaning of a phrase

GOOD ONES:
"$%*#& computer!"?   CRASH C(O)URSE
Short anchor?   C(O)URT REPORTER [I thought it was Bob Costas]    :)
Spillane's inspiration?   MICKEY M(O)USE
Like PETA members?   DOWN ON ALL F(O)URS
Well-mannered sisters?   PROPER N(O)UNS
Sugar daddy?   F(O)UNDING FATHER
Way up   HIGH [as in "way up there"]
Takedown expert?   STENO [I thought judo, etc.]
Flash mob?   PAPARAZZI [indeed---that's why they should be illegal]
Mug at a bar   STEIN [I thought "goon"]
Batting organ   EYE
Chain with popcorn   LOEWS [seems my granddaughter had one]
One whose efforts were feudal   SERF [not "futile"]

BTW:
Prior to A.D.   BCE [I really dislike this term, meaning "before the common era."  Was the previous era uncommon?  What then does A.D. stand for in this lexicon?  Silly anti-Christian jargon.]

More than dull   DRY AS DUST [never really understood this simile --- here DRY is bad, but weather-wise and oenologically it's good --- so what makes dry a pejorative?]

ESSA is only Italian and ETE only French.

RATING:    ;D ;D ;D [it will be hard to top this one]
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun

EUR... No indication in the clue that the answer is an abbreviation.
