Many people have received spam emails that look like legitimate PayPal messages, asking them to update their credit card and banking information. But these are scam emails! NEVER share your information unless the PayPal URL starts as shown above. Send a Check Secure payments via PayPal and other established transaction companies are safe and easy in my opinion (but please see the note above). I have never had any difficulties.
