BTW: Song of the South, from which the Oscar-winning song came, is today not screened or aired much, if at all, because of racial stereotyping. Odd that
Lady and the Tramp and
Pinocchio get wide Disney play despite portraying ethnically stereotypical Italian characters. My granddaughters never saw the former, a lesser film, but enjoyed very much the latter two. I think it's much ado about nothing --- but that's a child of the '50's talking, obviously with thicker skin.
Down EAST is a Maine region as well as a North Carolinian region; but in NC, for some reason, it is in the northeast sector, or Up EAST.
MONA Lisa Vito is a wonderfully drawn comedic character which got an Oscar for Marisa Tomei in her first role. The movie should have won an Oscar for best picture.
