I'm a new puzzle constructor looking to download one of these programs, and I'm not sure which to go with. Which do you prefer?

Wish I could give you some feedback, but I haven't used either one!

I am new at crossword puzzles but my mother-in-law is madly in love with them.  The Sunday NY Times takes her 2 days, but she loves every minute, almost.  I want to create a puzzle for the holidays about her life.  Looking at the puzzle makers, i don't want to get too technical, but think this will be an awesome time we can share.  Have been looking at Cruciverbalist for Mac but don't find much feedback on it.  Has anyone used this program?  Thank you

Can anyone else help me with understanding Crossfire better? If so, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
