Use of ? in puzzle
(1/1)
cranberry44:
I have a 15 X 15 puzzle with 6 theme entries. 3 theme entries have question marks after the clues; and 2 fill clues have question marks after them. Is this an acceptable number and distribution of the question mark?
Also, while I have you "on the phone, so to speak," can you tell me if the NYT 15 X 15 puzzles have titles. I only try to solve the ones bound in a book. I really would rather not have to drive just to pick up a copy of NYT.
Thanks ahead of time!

I've never heard mention of a limit on the number of "?" clues - this is a device that signifies the clue and/or answer is some kind of a play on words, or the clue involves trickery such as misdirection.
NYT daily puzzles do not have titles.

Well, I don't have to rattle my brain to think up a title; nor do I have to drive out of my way to pick up the NYT. Thanks, Mark!

You can find older NY Times daily crossword puzzles at https://www.seattletimes.com/games-nytimes-crossword/
These puzzles are a few weeks old, even though the Seattle Times identifies them as of the current day.
