THEME:   none, but a centered grid cross
Words from one who doesn't see   I'M OUT [poker player not the bewildered]
Jack feature, perhaps   ONE-EYE [picture card, not car lift or a man]
Man and others   ISLES [not a male or an interjection]
Letter man   POSTMASTER [not a writer or Dave]
I liked The Godfather reference crossed with that of King Lear.
DOS A DOS is a "don't a don't."
Sass   RETORTS [Retorts may or may not be sass --- would be as valid as the clue "Words of reply (cleverness, disagreement, etc.)"

Yesterday's newspaper had the wrong constructor's name.  Should be C.C. Burnikel. Thought it odd to have the same constructor's work on successive days.
RATING: ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun

Not only is DOSADOS an obscure term (unless you're a bookbinder or a square-dancer), in today's puzzle the first letter also began DARC. And the puzzle included LYONNAISE, making three French words. I can overlook the usage of French words and another set of Roman numerals because the crossword had a unique grid which contained four 10-letter words and twelve 9-letter words. That meant that there were very few of the usual three- and four-letter Crosswordese answers. I was impressed. (And I know how much the puzzle makers want me to be impressed. :) )
