It was clever to use "Balance organ..." for inner ear while EAR is the "inner" part of the theme answers.
"Shakes indicating affection, perhaps" for WAGS is interesting because if peolple wag their fingers it means the opposite of dogs wagging their tails.
"Prblems in ths clue" for ERRATA is unique, at least for me. I don't recall having seen a clue that on purpose contains errors.
"Trailers, e.g." for ADS is a good one.
It is beyond fortunate for Xword constructors that France made the SST.
The answer to "Tries" is HASAGOAT, which is not to say "has a goat." Sorry.
