Good Ones!

"Menu items"    ICONS [I still think first of restaurants.]
"Premiere arrival"    LIMO [homophone for premier, which describes a limo]
"Lines on 'ER'?"   EEG ["Lines" of two types]
"Not very strong hands"    PAIRS [poker, not mitts]
"Nice old man?"   PERE [French for father; Nice in Xwords is always the city]

I don't know how anyone but an old New Yorker could know Abe Beame was Ed Koch's predecessor.  It's a tough but fair Saturday entry considering its crossings are not outre.

I used to like sake until MOLD.
:)
