I'm not sure about "Hippie's 'Yeah, man!'" for IDIG. I think beatniks used the term which may have become a bit old hat by the time hippies "made the scene." As I recall, "That's cool" and "Fantastic" were popular affirmatives in the late '60's and early '70's. But I'm not too sure about this; at that time I mocked Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg and was "really into" Vic Damone and Perry Como. :)
