Title: Need help with searching for phrases/idioms
Post by: BradleyRobbins on December 05, 2011, 09:08:22 AM
Anyone know any good sites for searching phrases using only one or two words?  I have a theme idea I am trying to flesh out and this would be really useful!

An example of the theme entries would be:
"Honda Civic Duties"
"Ford Fusion Reactor"

Also, if most of my theme entries have a word after the car make and model, it probably wouldn't be good to switch it up would it?

I.E.  "Ford Cold Fusion"

Thanks!

There are no search features to speak of, but this is helpful:

For searching, try:

http://www.onelook.com/

For that site, be sure to go to Customize and select crossword mode.

I'm not 100% sure about your theme question.  The safe bet is to try hard to stick to one pattern (car, then idiom).  However, it may be that you can get away with mixing, but best if you don't have one odd man out.  For example, two going car, idiom and two going idiom, car may work.

Thanks for the info.  I found http://www.onelook.com/ while searching around earlier, but idiomconnection.com seems like it might be useful as well!
