Possible Title: Writers Unmanned

Theme: MAN removed from writers’ first names [I once did a 21x21 with first names of greats changed to nicknames, e.g., Lenny DaVinci]

Good Ones:
H.G. Wells classic {and theme}   THEINVISIBLEMAN
Kiss offerer   HERSHEY
It didn’t get its number until 1939   WWI [I thought atomic numbers]
Lines at the hosp.   EEGS
Mobile home?: Abbr.   ALA
Hard part of mathematics   CEE [the C in the word]
Actually, the cluing throughout was fun.

By the Way:
Cowboy Tony   ROMO [I’m so old I thought cowboy + Tony = Tom Mix’s horse]

I had hoped we might get a Columbus Day theme today, but I don't think it's a holiday politically acceptable to the media and academia.

Who knew?:
There was a book called The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in Heaven, never mind who wrote it.

Some Nits to Pick:
ESA

RATING:   ;D ;D ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
