Post by: magus on March 06, 2011, 09:36:40 AM
Adducational TV

Sheep’s kin   LAMB
Twitter source   NEST
Hardly big shots?   BBS
Like a bump on a log   RAISED
New newts   EFTS
Cone head?   SNO
Theme: adding one letter to a TV show title
Documentary about a Ravi Shankar concert tour?   SITARTREK
Sitcom about an endearing nitwit?   LOVETHATBOOB
Show about a nonsensical grain grinder?   BLARNEYMILLER [but blarney means flattery, not nonsense]
Sitcom about a team of aromatherapists?   THEMOODSQUAD
Financial show about the fermented honey market?   MEADMONEY

1-Across “Shrimp kin” sounds a lot like Lampkin.

I like any puzzle that has two references to The Wizard of Oz (ZEKE and the Scarecrow, whose alter ego’s name escapes me but I’m sure does not my granddaughter --- was it Hunk?)

Gossip   SCHMOOZE [this originally Yiddish term does not denote or connote (as far as I know) gossip --- it means to chat, especially to curry favor in business]
;D ;D ;D
Three grins = Excellent: Loved it; Two grins = Good: Enjoyed it; One grin = Satisfactory: A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Unsatisfying: No fun
