Title: Pluralizing given names
Post by: cranberry44 on April 02, 2020, 10:19:56 AM
I'd like to pluralize the given name "Ean." Ean Evans was the bassist for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Wikipedia gives a few more entries for
"Ean"; but they are not well known. Is it OK to use Eans, since people with that name do exist even though they are not famous?

Well, strike one, you're citing an unusual name, of a person probably not known to many and not inferable from one or two crossing letters. Strike two, pluralized first names are always inelegant. Strike three, you can't name another gridworthy person with that name. So, to me, it's a no.

Thanks, Mark. I'll try something else. Stay well.
