Title: Choosing a grid pattern
Post by: JHagerman1 on March 30, 2020, 04:33:28 PM
In Crossword Compiler, is there a quick way to select a pre-loaded block pattern using the maximum letters from your theme word list?  There are so many designs available that it could take hours to sort through them all.

Select - FILE/NEW/AMERICAN, then select the grid side (e.g. 15x15), then select FIT THEME WORDS. Enter your theme words (without spaces), then be sure to click PLACE SYMMETRICALLY (and Place in order if the order of your theme entries is critical to the theme). Then OK - it will display all the grids in the library that fit your theme.

Where do you select FIT THEME WORDS?

It's a button at the top of the page that lists all the grid. You see this after you click 15x15 on the second screen of the "create new puzzle" sequence (as noted in previous post).
