Title: SSE, NNW, etc.

I'm stuck using one of these. How can I determine if one location is exactly NNW of another? Is there some kind of trick in Google Maps or another online tool?

Also, how precise does it have to be?

I don't think it needs to be exact. There are usually several options in the various clue databases. Also, for easy puzzles these are often just clued as "Opposite of NNE" or whatever.
