Title: my puzzle is running off the page

Lately, every time I open a new puzzle, the format is spread wider than the page. The puzzle fits, but the clues are partly off the screen. I've tried using different configurations, but that doesn't change anything. Now I have a new computer and the puzzles are still spreading off the screen. Any suggestions?
