Post by: magus on January 17, 2015, 09:46:47 AM
THEME:   none, but only 26 blocks!

GOOD ONES:
Bass output   ALES [first I thought low notes even though I enjoy 3 or 4 stouts a week]
Some property safeguards   PRENUPS [I thought dogs, but I'm old]
Unpopular spots   ZITS [I was sure it was "pits"]
Francs and beans?   MONIES

BTW:
Heard of fuzzy math, but a fuzz guitar?  And I liked the Ventures' "Walk, Don't Run."

RATING:    ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun

In the 1950s, several musicians experimented with fuzz guitar and other distorted sounds. Marty Robbins' 1961 hit Don't Worry featured Grady Martin's fuzz guitar---but it was unintentional. A preamplifier had burned out and caused the distortion. Here are both parts of the Ventures' The 2000-Pound Bee, which stalled at #91 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1963:
