THEME:   It's a SAD ATTEMPT, but the first word of a phrase means unhappy; with no title or no clue only those looking have any hope of finding it.

BTW:   
PC image file format   JPEG [not on my computer]   
   
Like wines aged in certain barrels   OAKY [not oaken, which refers to wood, but "oaky" which refers to taste --- I guess.  But to me, this entry is rather wooden.

Image file formats, to show a few, are jpeg, tiff, gif,bmp and quite a few more.
jpeg or jpg are amongst the more common.

Are you sure JPEG is common?  If so, do you happen to know where and who might use it?
