IBM hardware = PCS?
IBM hasn't been in the PC business since 2005, when it sold that business to Lenovo.

I'm typing this on a "Think Pad" by Lenovo which seems an awful lot like an IBM to me, especially the help desk staffed by IBMers. 

The clue might have indicated the past, however.
