Title: Thu., 7/4 David Steinberg
Post by: magus on July 04, 2013, 09:08:06 AM
THEME:   phrases containing random combinations of the letters in the word DRY

GOOD ONES:
Not leave hanging? {& theme}   TUMBLE-DRY
Take a course or two?   EAT

BTW:
Foreign fill:
Later to Luis   LUEGO
90 degrees from norte   ESTE

Better song, usually   SIDEA [it occurs to me that this may be anchronistic --- but given references to ADELE and RAMSAY I don't feel too bad for young solvers]

Respected figure   ELDER [not in our country --- and obviously not our nation's elders, especially John Adams who mandated Independence Day celebration]

Is it not sad that LAT editors ignore the nation's celebration, the nation that gives them freedom of the press, because it is patriotic, anathema to John Lennonites whose anthem is "Imagine."  "No countries" and "no possessions" yearns Lennon --- from his penthouse overlooking Central Park.
Sorry for the rant; enjoy the holiday.  :)

RATING:  ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
