THEME:   last words of 4 phrases are words meaning DISTANCE

GOOD ONES:
From afar {& theme}   AT-A-DISTANCE

BTW:
If AVEC is proper for a puzzle in English, would DETRAS be also?  Both are prepositions.

Athletic group for kids   PEE-WEE-LEAGUE  [pun alert!  "Distance for a short sailor?" is a pee-wee league.  Okay, it's a "stretch": a league is a sailor's meaurement taken by pulling a rope from one hand stretched as far as possible from the other (about 6' for the average sailor.)  A short sailor's "stretch" would be short of a league.    -----  I did warn you.]

RATING:    ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
