Post by: magus on March 17, 2013, 11:23:23 AM
THEME:   mispronunciations by reversing initial sounds of first and last words of random phrases

GOOD ONES:
Respond to a face licking?   KISSTHEMUTT [miss the cut]
Work for nothing?   WAIVETHEPAY [pave the way]
Inside look, briefly?   MRI
Hardy heroine   TESS [an oldie but goodie, and so was Tess]
Big apple locale?   DESKTOP
Back on board   AFT [back of a boat]
Head of Hollywood   EDITH

BTW:
Forgo long stories?   SKIPTHETALES [but tales are not long stories; sagas would be better]

I spell it booties, not bootees.

OST and ETRE are not used in this language.

Monday morning quarterbacking:  Casino request   HITME [I'd clue it "Violent casino request?"]

Problem with doing Xwords from the newspaper is that when the delivery is late, so am I.

This puzzle has gone to the dogs: MUTT, ALPO, ODIE, and OTTO [sorry]

RATING:  ;D ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
