Title: Thu., 2/21 Livengood & Chen
Post by: magus on February 21, 2013, 09:15:17 AM
THEME:   [clever but not easily determined] the word CLOSE is "shaved" in each theme phrase --- i.e., the letter C is removed from CLOSESHAVE so C-L-O-S-E becomes L-O-S-E in LOSEONESWAY; that leaves L-O-S-E; then the letter E is removed leaving L-O-S for the LOSANGELESLAKERS …

GOOD ONES:
the clues are most clever but no other entries are

BTW:
With great skill   ABLY [one may ABLY draw a horse but may not do so with great skill]

Nimrods   DOLTS [I believe "nimrod" pejorated from "hunter" because of Bugs Bunny!  He called Elmer Fudd a nimrod, and audiences thought it meant fool.]

RATING:    ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
