Complete newbie here, trying to come up with an puzzle inspired by my daughter's love of dogs and my love of puzzles. Here's what I'm working on:

 Theme: Lost Dogs

 Barbarabriefs  [boxer]
 Threesisters  [pointer]
 Toyskirt  [poodle]
 Ferlinvoices [husky]

I haven't come up with the *wacky* clues yet, but I think that part won't be too difficult

 I guess my questions are:
Is this is doable in a 15x?
Is this theme too similar to Matthew Sewell's Sunday NYT puzzle of 3/11/18 (linked below)?

Appreciate any and all feedback.  Thanks.

I'd be a little uneasy about mixing the final phrases; that is, Barbara Boxer and Ferlin Husky (people), on
one hand, and toy poodle and three pointer (dogs), on the other hand. I think using the final phrase as some kind of dog
throughout, such as toy poodle and three pointer, is more effective in re: your title "Lost Dogs."

 Also, What are Ferlin voices?
