Title: Theme Consistency
Post by: ddoron on October 14, 2021, 06:01:09 PM
Hi, all.

I'm new to constructing and new to Cruciverb.  I am hoping to get some advice on this question:  Do theme answers need to be consistent as to singular/plural.  The revealer is stated as plural, but it refers to all the theme answers.  One of the theme answers, because of the nature of the phrase, already has ambiguous singular/plural.  So a simplified (for illustration of plural/singular issue only) example:

Elephant
Giraffe
Tigers
Deer
Revealer: Animals

Acceptable or not?

Thank you so much in advance for any thoughts or advice.

Dan

Ideally, themers will be consistent in every respect, including plural/singular. Editors may overlook deviations if they like the theme well enough and the puzzle is otherwise of very high quality.
