Title: Simultaneous Submission
Post by: Wheels12 on November 22, 2019, 04:23:58 PM
Is it kosher to submit a crossword to more than one publication (NYT, WSJ, LAT) at the same time? With wait times as long as they are, it'd be nice to have the clocks running concurrently. On the other hand, if the unexpected happens and multiple publishers want to use the puzzle, I'm sure that could cause an issue (and potentially burn a bridge). What are your thoughts? Do you have experience with this?

No, you shouldn't do that. Your submission constitutes an offer to sell the rights to your puzzle, and you can't offer to sell the same thing to more than one party.
