LA times response time

just curious if anyone can help me in my fragile mental state:
i have not heard from rich norris after e-mailing him a weekday LA times puzzle 6 weeks ago.
is this normal and is cruciverb just optimistic in it's listed response time, or am i doomed to failure yet again?
