Theoretically oysters should only be eaten in months that contain an "r" in their name. This may have been true in the days before refrigeration as the r-less months are the summer months. I eat oysters year-round & have never gotten sick from one.

So they spoil easily. Thanks!
I grew up in Sheepshead Bay, a fishing villiage, but never could get used to eathing them or mussels or clams. I think I missed out.
