Board for nails   EMERY [I was thinking wood shop stuff]
Hub near the Loop   OHARE [sounds like a lasso]
Lets the fur fly?   SHEDS [not "fights"]

The theme words with misspellings (extra vowels together) was tough for me.  When I see thee e's in a row in a grid, I know I'm on the wrong track.  Same is true with two i's and two a's.  So I was forced to reconsider what was already correct.  It was fun.
