Possible Title: Bird Land

Good Ones:
Needled in the dentist’s office?   NUMBED

Covert theme: Words that can mean both a bird or something else

Who knew?:
If you knew Scott Odell won the Newbury award over 50 years ago, you probably can distinguish the Newbury from the Caldecott, but that would put you in a very small set.  Doesn’t mean the entry is flawed --- just that kids lit tends to be remembered only for the few years you and your kids read it.  Paul Zindel, an acquaintance, was a young adult writer and won the Pulitzer 50 years ago yet I wonder how many would remember him today --- or that he wrote the wonderful The Effect of Gamma Rays…

Some Nits to Pick:
PEU

RATING:   ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
