Across Lite multiple letters

How do you enter multiple letters in a single square when solving in Across Lite? Across Lite help won't work in Vista

Hit the Insert key, then type your letters.  You don't actually have to do that, though -- if you want, you can just type the first letter in the square instead of the whole word.
