Scrambled EATS

 :)
Theme:  the word MEAL in three corners (square) of the grid along with BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER
Familiarly, nutritious trio found twice in this puzzle   THREESQUARES [includes the three meals plus the three scrambled MEALS]

 :(
Instead of non-themed clever cluing we get Spanish:
MAS [instead of “mothers”]
CAPA
ARTE
AVILA
… or other exotic people & terms:
Browning
Pound [ex-pat who in youth looked like the actor Edward Norton and later the archetypal old, angry poet]
Dubai…EMIR
ASSAI
ANIME

… actually I like cosmopolitan not polyglot offerings

 :-[
Guess I’m not only a xenophobe but also a sexist because I was surprised at first to see a woman refer to a barber chair STROP--- of course mothers take their sons to barber shops all the time.

RATING:   ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = No fun
