Possible Title: Farmer’s Bear

By the Way:
I wonder if kids in other cities besides New York pronounced Spalding rubber balls SPALDEENS.  It brings back good memories.  (They were more costly and flew farther than Pensy Pinkies.)

I enjoyed the challenge of this bear, but…

Who knew?:
TINFOILHAT can block a mind reader
LITA Ford sang “Kiss Me Deadly,” which I thought was the Mickey Spillane novel I read when I was a kid.
Operation Crossroads was an ATEST program in 1946
The Oscar for best song in 2002 was won by EMINEM
LEGHORNS are chickens named after an Italian city
PELF means ill-gotten gains
AKIO, abutting PELF, is the first name of a Japanese magnate named Morita
ARIANE is played by someone named Audrey in “Love in the Afternoon,” whatever that is
TIMALLEN was the voice of Buzz Lightyear, who/which my grandchildren already forgot
PSEC is a word

Some Nits to Pick:
Get past the bouncer   GOIN [sounds like it should be “get in”; “go in” suggests ease of entry while “get in” suggests effort]

RATING:  ;D ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
