Possible Title:  Three Pair

Theme: three phrases comprised to two names of shoes

Good Ones:
Proper sort {and theme}   GOODYTWOSHOES
Party person   HOST

By the Way:
Chills and fever   AGUE [it’s probably time to use “once” in the clue]

From the cluing, I get the feeling that Elizabeth has some English teaching experience.

Who knew?:
UELE is a tributary of the Ubangi.  Looks (sounds?) a lot like a Peter Fonda role.

RATING:  ;D ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
