The Play’s the Thing

I thought we were getting a boat trip down the Thames or the Avon, but it was a trip to the NATIONALTOYHALLOFFAME on ROLLERSKATES. Never knew the hall existed, but it would seem like fun to visit.

While there was just one tickler, the cluing was clever in its own way giving us unusual looks at some words and phrases. Some were:
1943 Allied conference site   TEHRAN [surprising!  then mostly called Teheran]
Contemporary of Boris   LON
Tool used in a bed   HOE
Capital south of the Black Sea   ANKARA

 ???
Crunchy Mexican munchies   HARDTACOS [aren’t all tacos hard by definition]

 :(
Snow in Milano   NEVE [Why not stay in English and go with the actress Campbell?]

RATING: ;D ;DThree grins = Excellent: Loved it; Two grins = Good: Enjoyed it; One grin = Satisfactory: A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Unsatisfying: No fun

Filer:
All TACOS are not hard. There are some that are made with either corn or flour and are not cooked to a crisp. They are, of course, called soft tacos. Here in California there is a chain called Chipolete that serves them.

Thanks for the info.  Here in Dixie we aren't blessed with a wide variety of Mexican restaurants of the kind I'd want to patronize, and so I'm a bit retarded in this area.  It's good to know there are SOFTTACOS as the hard ones are too difficult for me to manage without making a terrible mess.
