Off-balance placement for split theme entry?

I am working on a "this 'n' that" theme in which I am thinking about starting with a 34-letter entry, a 17-letter entry, and two 14-letter entries.  I believe it would be too confusing to interject the 17 in between the two parts of the split entry, placing it in the middle of the grid, but is it too far from the beaten path to place one of the split entries across the middle?

I am the sole editor of the project this is for, but I am making every effort to produce the highest quality work I can.
