Hi.

I finished this Tuesday puzzle from 2003 an hour ago and I still can't find the theme:

ENDERMIC / HUMPHREY / MARSHLAND / SNAREDRUM ??

I believe you have the theme entries incorrect. According to the cruciverb database, these are the theme entries:
  • XFILES   Agent Mulder's show, with "The"
  • XRAYS   Dental pictures
  • TSHIRT   Garment that may have advertising
  • TMEN   Some feds
  • VSIX   Auto engine type
  • DDAY   Make-or-break time
  • TBARS   Skiers' lifts
  • XRATED   Like porn
  • FSTOPS   Shutterbugs' settings

It's a little unusual to have the longest entries NOT contain the theme.
