Possible Title: Johns

Theme: First word of phase is last name of famous “Johnny”

Good Ones:
Handy guy to have around and {theme}   JOHNNYONTHESPOT
Grant with an Honorary Award statuette   CARY

By the Way:
Weight on one’s shoulders   ONUS [this is a metaphor, so I would expect to see quotes around weight]

When Annie Hall used la-di-da it was not to describe artiness but used as an exclamation, of what I was never quite sure.

Pre-A.D.   BCE [BCE=Before the Common Era, a term that seems unnecessary and is longer than the common term B.C. (2 thousand-years-old?) It’s like Christmas.

Some Nits to Pick:
A or Jay, e.g.   ALER [this would be a good clue if ALER really were a term , but it isn’t, so it’s not]

RATING:  ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
