LAT Fourth of July Mike Peluso
« on: July 04, 2012, 09:29:11 AM »
Possible Title: Filthy Words

Theme: A dozenentries which can be modified by DIRTY

Good Ones:
1967 war film {and theme}   THEDIRTYDOZEN
“Dirty” OLDMAN
“Dirty” HARRY
It’s seen around leftovers   SARAN
Give everyone a hand   DEAL

By the Way:
Thing to spare, in an adage   ROD [Wouldn’t that be a thing not to spare?]

Who knew?:
AZAN is an Islamic call to prayer --- if you’re not a Muslim, which over 99% of us are not --- but it is grist for the Xword mill [or should I say "fill"]

DARTH at one time was ANI, or who Darth is {Vader?}, or what ANI is {not a bird} [guess I’m nescient (read “out of it”) about Star Wars and video games]

Some Nits to Pick:
ESTO no es englais pero a Pamplona es bueno.

Sad that the LAT couldn’t produce an offering related to the most important of American holidays.  Guess it’s not politically correct to be patriotic.  Well, iconoclasts be damned: “Happy Birthday to US.”  :)

RATING:   ;D ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
