Crossword Compiler 9 -- Word Search

I can't seem to control the the location of the words searched under or around the grid.  For example, I'd like to position the search words in four balanced columns under the grid. The software apparently will only list the words in the primary column to the length of the page and then move on to the second column. In my example there are 20 or so words in column one and five in column two. Is there a way to balance this list?
