Mon., 9/9 Jack McInturff
« on: September 09, 2013, 09:09:43 AM »
THEME:   first words of phrases are synonyms of soundlessness

GOOD ONES:
Cowboys and Indians, e.g.   TEAMS [not enemies, maybe]
Land with a rod   REEL IN [a rod = about 15 feet, so with that meaning it wouldn't be "land" as much as a "plot"]

BTW:
Crescent component   ARC [don't know about this one: crescent = 3D; arc = 2D]

Doughnut's middle   HOLE [Yiddish has a great term, bupkis [sic], used to connote "disappointingly nothing."]

RATING: ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun

A rod is an object with which one fishes. Reel in is a good answer.

Guess you didn't quite understand, and guess it was my fault.  I highlighted the clue because I thought it was a "Good One," so I understood the idea of fishing rod.  ("Needs no ghost from hell tell us this.")  I noted that there was a measurement that might add another facet.  But thanks for the comment.
