THEME:   initial letters of phrases are TV stations

GOOD ONES:
Weekly magazine where {theme}   TV-GUIDE
Wedding proposal?   TOAST
Private insignia   ONE-STRIPE [I thought a seal of some type, not military]
"High Voltage" rockers   AC/DC [apt name for the loud group]
Beetles, perhaps   CARS [of course I thougtht insects]
Gives a hand   DEALS-TO
Skye cap   TAM [note final-e]

BTW:
Kate's TV mate   ALLIE [were they married, or are we being British, mate?]

Roll on the ballfield   SOD [is it still a roll once laid?]

Wet expanse {twice}   OCEAN & SEA [when I saw OCEAN was the answer for "wet expanse" I thought it was a weak clue; seeing it a second time reinforced its mundanity]

Psychic's verb   READ [the verb is common to every subject in the universe]

A fourth of doce   TRES [doce is not used in our language, ever --- if it is imperative that a foreign word be used, clue it so that the English reader has a chance as in "Dos follower" or "France's ___ bien."

RATING:  ;D ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
