Skye writing   ERSE   
Not now?   DATED   
Ella's English counterpart   SHE [good if you know some Spanish --- I thought Fitzgerald]   
Pointed at the dinner table?   TINED [forks have tines]   
   
BTW:   
I found this puzzle challenging but no more so than figuring out the theme.
