THEME:   Knocking one's I out

GOOD ONES:
Winnebago-driving elder?   OLDMANRVER ["Old Man River"]
Prison?   CONCOLLECTOR [coin]
What the team's goat mascot did?   SWALLOWEDTHEBAT [bait]
Pavarotti's trio   TRE
Down in the dumps, say   IDIOM

BTW:
Some 6-Downs (CANDYBARS)   CLARK [loved them as a boy but they changed their recipe.  Wonder how many under 50 ever heard of them]

Rare shoe width   EEE [hardly rare; I have little trouble finding them]

More high strung   TAUTER [yes, but "tenser" is for "high-strung" while "tauter" is for "more tightly strung"]

Odd that NEMO was clued as the name of a storm that never really materialized and was a bit of a misnomer.  "Mason role" may have been better.

ETAGE as French for "floor" is, well, French and not used in English.  It is possible to find bel etage (main floor) in our dictionary.

I particularly like the title because it is clever but also because it was our wedding song in 1965, just about when Clark bars changed.

RATING:    ;D ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
