Double-Teamed

Was it me (I know, I know), or was this a bitch?   Not only were there some arcane entries (actually I knew HACKWILSON right off, I’m proud to note, but I didn’t know PEAU, DRALI, TATAMI, or WITCHELM); but there was also some vague cluing.  For example, RUSTEATEN from “Like many a jalopy” doesn’t immediately come to mind --- if your mind is as slow as mine.  “Wheels in a cave” for BATMOBILE also took me awhile to get, and the two answers abut!  “Bulb output” for IRIS wasn’t easy.

Some like it hard --- no puns, nothing cute, not even a theme, and I guess I'm one of them --- but much tougher would probably stump me.

RATING:  ;D ;D ;DThree grins = Excellent: Loved it; Two grins = Good: Enjoyed it; One grin = Satisfactory: A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Unsatisfying: No fun
