I'm not sure I understand the fascination with the letter K, but Monday's puzzle was full of them as is today's. Other than the 8 K's, I didn't find much to enjoy in this effort. I liked crossing KARZAI with KIMJONGIL, sort of, but these characters intruded disconcertedly on my escapist hobby.
I think "Impressive way to walk?" for ONWATER probably should have been "Impressive place to walk."
I wonder how many solvers first had CHECKER for JOEYDEE as a peppermint twister. Joey Dee and the Starlighters starred at the Peppermint Lounge in the '60's. Don't know how I remembered that.
Crossing HOECAKE with PAPAWS was tough for me, not having heard of either term.
