Title: LAT Thu. 6/6 Dan Naddor
Post by: magus on August 06, 2009, 09:14:06 AM
This puzzle features six foreign words --- perhaps in keeping with the friendly theme.

DIO
GESTE
ADIEU
NAE
UNA
TRES

I do not believe these words are, as AYER is, inappropriate because they are  actually found in English prose, poetry, and names.

I liked "Chain letters?" for DNA but not so much "Changes, in a Darwinian sense" for ADAPTS.  While the entry is not incorrect, adaptation was a Lamarckian concept published 50 years before Darwin published a word.  As gentlemanly as Darwin was, he would have pointed that out himself.
