Possible Title: The Ayes Have It

Theme: Second words of four phrases begin with the same letter as the last letter of the phrase’s first word, and the four second words rhyme with /ayes/. (I understood this when I wrote it.)

Good Ones:
Red, blue and green food colors?   STANDARDDYES
Living proof   PULSE
Scout’s honor   AWARD
Relative of mine   OUR
Raise canines?   TEETHE
Pea jackets   PODS [they’re woolen coats named from a similar sounding Scandinavian word, not for patrol, which I thought when my father wore his home from the Navy.]

By the Way:
Lesser partner   JUNIOR [I thought Frank Loesser, the songster, who partnered with Hoagy Carmichael, for one]

“Same old, same old”   NONEWS [Friday morning quarterbacking: I’d clue it “Good news, at times.”]

Who knew?:
ASSISI is the home of Poor Clares or that they are nuns --- and I wrote a novel about the pope and Catholic doctrine.

RATING:   ;D ;D ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
