Title: Cryptics anyone?
Post by: Bryan Colleran on February 20, 2009, 08:25:46 PM
I'm new to this forum. After a quick scan and a search or two, I haven't yet seen any reference to cryptic crosswords here. I've been constructing cryptics for a while now and I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction to see if I can get some of my cryptic puzzles published.
Best regards to all

You might try the london Times - cryptic puzzles are a lot more common in UK than US
Good luck!

Hi Bryan,
I was just reading Puzzle Makers Handbook by Mel Rosen and Stan Kurzban and in their chapter on cryptics they list American publications that publish cryptics as Games, Dell Champion, Atlantic Monthly, Harpers and occasionally NYT
Hope this helps

Harper's and the Atlantic have their own cryptic constructor, so they don't take free lance work.  Not much market for cryptics, I'm afraid.
